This is a 1-day course (7 hours clinical) that satisfies the requirements of the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners allowing graduates to legally take radiographs in a North Carolina clinical setting.

This class is designed for dental assistants with at least a year experience in the field actually taking, developing and mounting radiographs in a clinical setting.  A written, multiple-choice exam that has been approved by the NC State Board of Dental Examiners will be given (textbook can be borrowed that morning to use for the test; there is no need to study beforehand). Also, a full-mouth series of radiographs (digital and film) will  be taken on a manikin. A North Carolina Dental Radiography certificate is given at the end of the day, upon successful completion of both the written and clinical tests.

In order to sit for the clinical and written exam without going through the lecture portion, you MUST have experience and proof of prior certification. Acceptable proof is:

• DA1 certificate OR
• DA2 certificate from an accredited institution OR
• CDA from another state OR
• A Letter from your previous out-of-state employer that you have worked as a dental assistant with at least one year experience OR
• DANB certificate
