This is a 1-day SATURDAY course (7 hours of clinical work on a manikin at the school; no lecture is given) that satisfies the requirements of the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners allowing students to legally take dental radiographs in a North Carolina clinical setting.

This class is designed for dental assistants with at least a year of experience actually taking radiographs on live patients.  An online written multiple-choice exam that has been approved by the NC State Board of Dental Examiners will be available a week before the course (there is no need to study beforehand).  Then, at the school on the day of the course, a full-mouth series of radiographs (digital and film) will  need to be taken on a manikin. A North Carolina Dental Radiography certificate is given at the end of the day, upon successful completion of both the written and clinical tests. A score of at least 70% on the written exam is needed in order to take the clinical portion of the course.

We offer this course once every 3 months.

*In order to sit for this CHALLENGE EXAM DAY  without having to take the 2-day course, a student MUST have both some patient experience with taking dental radiographs and also proof of dental radiography certification from another state.  A foreign dental degree is also acceptable.

Please note that a student is not considered enrolled in the course and his/her spot will not be held unless full payment and proof  have been received.
